We’re thrilled to see that James Gunn—the writer/director of The Suicide Squad, the 3 Guardians of the Galaxy films, and Superman: Legacy (scheduled to premiere on July 11, 2025)—recommends Save the Cat! to all screenwriters!

James has always been kind to us. When we posted a Beat Sheet Analysis of Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014, he commented:

James is now Co-Chairman and CEO of DC Studios for Warner Bros. Discovery, alongside Peter Safran. It’s quite a challenge, but we’re confident DC’s future is bright with James and Peter in charge!
