Naomi Beaty is a screenwriter and script reader who was mentored by Blake and worked with him on Save the Cat!® Goes to the Movies. Hey guys – loved it. I totally agree – for me Act 1 is the toughest. Getting my audience to identify and empathize with my hero while setting everything else up is tough. EASY to overlook. Looking forward to more!

I would love to hear a bit on the B story in a future podcast. I’ve heard from other sources on novel writing that it doesn’t necessarily have to wait until the 2nd act, but I’d like to hear your thoughts on this.
